What is the Homes for Hope program?
Homes for Hope is a program between Nightlight and Adams County. Two fully furnished homes in Thornton are ready for two foster families to move into to provide temporary foster care services for children in emergency situations. These homes provide safety, comfort, and care to children when they are at their most vulnerable; immediately after being removed from their guardians. The goal is to minimize the change and disruption for the children by keeping them in their schools, community, and together with their siblings.

Who are these homes for?
The homes serve children primarily between the ages of 0-10, sibling groups and teen parents. Each home supports a total of 5 children. The children will remain in the homes for 30-90 days, giving the county the breathing room they often need to locate family members, create a safety plan with the child's biological family, or identify a more long-term, best fit foster placement.

Who cares for these children within each home?
Each home will have foster parents who live in the houses full time and are responsible for caring for the children during their temporary stay. The families will be certified through Nightlight and receive training, emotional support, and financial support from Nightlight and Adam’s County.

Who are the perfect Homes for Hope foster parent?
The ideal Homes for Hope foster parent is trauma-informed, has parenting experience, and is willing to move into a Homes for Hope house. They are teachable, flexible, and tenacious. We are looking for Foster Parents for both homes as well as support families to help with childcare, transportation, and respite care.
